Regulated Professions
Our firm represents several regulated professions. We represent the Florida State Association of Harbor Pilots, the Florida Land Title Association, the Florida Surveyors and Mappers, the Florida Association of Professional Employer Organizations, and several other regulated professions. We have represented most of these organizations for over ten years and a few of them have been with us for over 20 years. The Florida Cabinet and Legislature are dominated by members who generally do not support government regulation of many professions. Our role is to educate those elected officials on the importance of the profession and of the many reasons why regulating it is in the public interest and is good public policy. On occasion we have been asked to engineer just the opposite – taking a profession regulated by government back to the private sector and we have done just that.
